Obligation: Twitch has the chance to prove his worth in a gunfight.

Bronk is the man to talk to for black market goods on the horrible little company mining colony he is trapped on after his troubles with the Black Sun (a public gunfight wherein he killed a high ranking boss purely (but not obviously) by luck). Twitch has taken to the stars as the first mate of the Charon's Ferry, a depressing ship run by a depressing man who has all but given up on life and now runs "corporate assets" for the company.

Twitch, always anxious to prove himself, asks around about who is the best gun in the town then tracks him down in the cantina. Bronk is at the cantina, wheeling and dealing with Twitch's captain, when Twitch strides in and throws down his challenge. Initially, Bronk believes it to be for him, but another human stands, and he and Twitch slap leather. Twitch is victorious, but a stray shot from the duel has set the pleather upholstery in his captain's booth on fire. The captain's breathing apparatus explodes, killing him. Soon the authorities arrive and cart Twitch off to jail, but not before Maeve-a young working girl, cute, but worn-tells him that his opponent had connections with Black Sun and he might be in for some trouble.

In jail, Twitch is visited by a reporter. Twitch, never shy about his goal of becoming a notorious gunfighter, tells all. Meanwhile, Bronk learns that Black Sun is coming and are due to arrive before any other transports leaving the planet. He decides to help free Twitch and his ship (bequethed to him in the captain's will) using his connections. After all is said and done, they are co-owners of the newly named Event Horizon. The pair, plus Maeve, flee the planet as a Black Sun cleanup crew arrives. Warned by their planet-side contacts, the Black Sun ship launches fighters against them.

Obligation: Luddite receives a message that he ought to meet with a certain Mr. Johnson and aid him.

As the pair prepare to jump to hyperspace under fire from the fighters, a stray blaster bolt shorts out a hidden compartment, where the captain was smuggling three bounties frozen in carbonite. One by one they awaken and join Bronk and Twitch in their efforts to escape. First is a Bothan, who takes over ECM/ECCM duties admirably. The next is a human, who pushes Bronk aside-allowing him to head back and man a turret-and begins calculating the hyperspace route with lightning precision. As Bronk heads into the rear of the ship to man one of the turrets, a beautiful Twi'lek woman, "3", also emerges from carbonite and joins him in manning the guns.

After taking considerable damage, they are finally able to make the jump. Introductions are made and plans laid. After slicing the computer, the old captain is found to have hyperspace coordinates for 6 planets and contact lists on each. The group decides Nar Shaada will be their destination. Arriving on planet, they make arrangements to repair their ship and refurbish the interior. Luddite receives an anonymous call, suggesting that his skill-set could be of use to a certain contact who he can meet at a given time and place, and that some of his debt might be forgiven if he were able to help.

After meeting the contact, a corporate type whose company has a vested interest in the target's well-being, he approaches the rest of the group about taking the job: investigating death-threats against a talent manager, Allenby, who represents the current "it" band, "The Shadows". They agree to help.

Obligation: Bronk's notoriety gets him in hot water with the Black Sun
Duty: none

Jasra and Xarn have arrived on Nar Shaada following a lead Jasra had about her family. Jasra had thought getting a dancing job would be easy here, but the plethora of, and predisposition for, Twi'lek dancers means her skills are not unique nor as highly sought as, perhaps, they would be elsewhere. The pair live in a tiny cramped apartment that she keeps at almost intolerable heat levels. Xarn has tried to get work as a mechanic, but hasn't yet been successful. He spends most of his days at the nearby spaceport, wishfully looking at the ships coming and going.

Jasra convinces Xarn to get involved with an illegal operation she got wind of at work, to slice a corporate HQ for personnel data related to a Nikto bounty hunter. They are put in contact with a Bothan slicer (Paul's character) as his muscle, on an easy slicing run to help make ends meet…what could go wrong?

As they flee the building with the data, a Black Sun holding, pursued by gangers, after the Bothan tripped a hidden alarm, Jasra shrugs helplessly. They jump in a nearby taxi and flee, but the gangers follow on their swoop bikes. During the battle, the pilot droid is taken out and none of the occupants is able to return fire, having only holdout blasters and melee weapons. Jasra fails to wrest control of the plummeting car and it crash lands on a nearby promenade. Xarn manages to leap onto a swoop bike and take down the pilot while the Bothan and Jasra flee into the crowd. Xarn is pursued by some of the gangers while the rest search for them. Security arrives as he defeats the last of them and he tries to fade into the crowd but the recon droids follow him relentlessly, peppering him with stunners. Finally, he manages to escape them and gain a chance to grab a second wind.

The Bothan has called Bronk to come pick he and Jasra up and take them to their contact at a local chop shop, and she contacts Xarn and convinces Bronk to detour to retrieve Xarn. At the shop they slice the data with the help of their contact and discover the identity of the Nikto bounty hunter, Kaa'to Leeachos. He is known to their contact who tells them they must now bring this bounty hunter in dead or alive to fulfill their contract.

It is unknown where the Nikto sleeps, but he is known to hang out at the Umbra Club, The Spyder, and to have dealings with Zelcomm Industries. With these leads the party, sans the Bothan, head out to investigate. First, though, Bronk insists on taking Jasra out to dinner, and when she demurs, saying she has nothing to wear, he takes her shopping. Later, at the Umbra Club, a nightclub front for deathstick dealing, Bronk and Jasra learn that Kaa'to has been trying to unload some crates of spice. Xarn, detours home and has a run in with a duracrete slug, which he avoids, and a bum, who he leaves for the slug to devour. Bronk and Jasra are surprised not to find him at The Spyder, a Bothan run sabaac parlour for smugglers and infochants, and when they call him, he agrees to meet them there.

Bronk enjoys the gambling and after making contact with the owner, a Bothan named Korsin Fenn, they discover that Kaa'to owes him a lot of money and has tried to offer payment in the form of spice, to which he refused. After some persuading, he agrees to contact Kaa'to to set up a buy for the spice. He also mentions that Kaa'to's current employer, Verannis, a local Black Sun underboss is presently in the club playing at a high stakes table and perhaps can be convinced of Kaa'to's treacherous nature. The underboss is all play, no business until a few hands are played and Bronk pushes for an all-or-nothing, winner-take-all hand and manages to take the pot. Intrigued, and recognizing Bronk, he listens to his pitch, finally agreeing that Kaa'to is a liability to his organization and no longer has his organization's protection.

The next morning, Bronk gets an anonymous call warning him that "they" are on the way. He quickly leaves his room, and hearing the elevator arrive on his floor, attempts to charm his way into the room across the hall. The showgirl inside has been watching Bronk come and go and is quite amenable to his company.

Twitch has been trying to reach Bronk for the last couple days and finally gets through. He tells Bronk he will be right over, though Bronk neglects to mention he is across the hall. Twitch arrives to find Bronk's room trashed, the door burned through and the windows smashed in. In a panic he attempts to question the neighbors and in the process discovers Bronk, unfazed by the commotion and attack. However, after a group of thugs begin knocking on doors, they decide to split out the back door which is guarded by a grumpy and stubborn refrigeration droid. In the mezzanine of the building they are spotted by a group of thugs and a fire-fight ensues. It begins to escalate as more thugs arrive from different corridors. Jasra and Xarn arrive as well. Victorious. they chase the last of the thugs to the roof where the thugs make their escape via an assault transport.

The party has breakfast and decide they will attempt a break in at Zelcomm Towers tonight. Bronk and Twitch introduce Jasra and Xarnto Maeve and their ship. Xarn crushes hard on Maeve, who totally shoots him down. Xarn does not help his case by upstaging Maeve's mechanical ability and rubbing it in her face. Later, Xarn is asked to come to a meeting with Verannis where he is told Black Sun would like him to repay their favor of helping him escape Imperial space by returning to them any spice Kaa'to held back from them. He says he will think about it.

That night the party attempts their break in at Zelcomm Towers. They find that the chief of security, Coruum Sa'dia, is using the location to smuggle weapons for Black Sun and he has had dealings with Kaa'to, shipping weapons to an address in a nearby run-down industrial sector, including min-thermal detonators! In a sub-basement, where the weapons are supposedly stored, they discover a group of smugglers loading a cargo truck.

They set up their ambush of the gun-runners from the catwalks above the storeroom floor. Afterwards, in addition to the blaster rifles in the crates that the thugs turned on them, they discover a crate of frag and stun grenades. Deciding to steal the crates and the truck, they drive off, earning them the ire of Black Sun (+5 Debt each). Bronk gets word from his Spyder contact that a buy is set up for the next day with Kaa'to.

The next day, Xarn wakes from sleep, his eyes burned from his head, but in possession of a powerful lightsaber crystal (see The Dream Mentor). The party takes him to a clinic where he can get new eyes grown-a 24-hour process-Twich paying the tab to put the young man in his debt. Bronk heads off to sell the crates of blasters, while Twitch attempts to recruit Maeve to help him paint the stolen truck, which she refuses by just walking away. It is decided that the meet with Kaa'to will have to be postponed so Xarn can come along. Later that night, Bronk's contact confirms a new meet time.

The next morning they head to the clinic to check on Xarn. The doctor has made an error though and Xarn's eyes are now red. Xarn likes it. The party discusses plans for the meet tonight but in the end the ambush they set up is too little, too late. Kaa'to, his suspicions aroused by the delay, has already scouted them and set up his own ambush.

He uses remotes to project a holo-image to talk with the party and when he feels his suspicions are confirmed about the setup, he sets off explosives rigged in the remotes. A fire-fight ensues and when Kaa'to feels the tide is turning, he simply uses his jetpack and flies off. The meet however is close to the address the party has from their break-in at Zelcomm Towers and they figure he has gone to ground in his lair. The front is an old kelerium processing plant, mostly automated, save for a skeleton crew. The party bluffs their way past the workers and are even told of a blocked off ruined part of the factory.

Investigating the area, they discover the Niktos' lair and the final battle begins. Inside the lair are some dead goons the party assumes were sent by Black Sun to "terminate" their agreement, but Kaa'to has booby-trapped the place with explosives and taken care of them first. Twitch's pinpoint accuracy and deadly blaster pistol rip Kaa'to apart but the tenacious lizard manages to hold on even with critical after critical piling up. In a final epic moment, Bronk tosses a frag grenade at the airborne Nikto, yelling catch….and he does! The explosion finishes the mortally wounded bounty hunter.

Examining the lair (carefully!) they discover 3 crates of spice, some weapons, and a starfighter! They decide to return the spice to the Pykes, the group that originally hired them, and sell the ship and the rest. The Pykes are pleased and use their influence to pay off the party's Black Sun Obligation (-5 Debt) for stealing the truck. Xarn, however, earns Black Sun's ire for failing to deliver the spice to them (+5 Debt).

Duty: Bothan

The party arrives on Tatooine after a short time in hyperspace due to the awesome astrogation skills of Luddite, and go to see Teemo in Mos Shuuta. After meeting with him at his palace, they agree to take on a gun running mission in exchange for a reduction in Twitch's obligations to the Hutt. They are to take a landing beacon he supplies and a comm unit tuned to a certain frequency and head to Anchorhead where the contact will fly in under cover of darkness tomorrow night. That night however, they party with the Hutt returning to Mos Eisley the next morning.

The Bothan, still active with the Alliance, has heard of a situation he would like to help with: the rescue of a local folk hero, Momaw Nadon, an Ithorian botonist whose attempts to bring green to the barren world of Tatooine are legendary. He manipulates the party into helping, playing on their good natures.

After some legwork the party discovers that a local gang lord named Centa Sonhan has allied himself with a corrupt Imperial Officer in a bid to increase his power base. He and his Imperial contact Ingah Muloha, a corrupt bureaucrat with ambition, have picked Momaw up already and are moving towards his secret grove to destroy it in the name of the Empire.

The Bothan arranges for speeder bikes to be supplied to the party at Torche Station and off they go! Jasra chooses to ride with Twitch, confident his skills in driving are better then hers, considering the outcome when last she got behind the wheel (see crashing in episode 5). Bronk mounts up behind Yala, also not confident of his skills. Relatively quickly they catch up with Centa's stately sailbarge. Noting the rather large deckgun, they have Luddite patch them into the ship's comms and pretend they are biker gang members come to party on the barge.

The ruse works to a point and very quickly they all close the gap with the ship. Boarding the barge proves difficult from the sides, however. Jasra, who thought ahead (Destiny Point) to bring climbing gear is hanging off the edge, the rope the only thing holding her on. Xarn has also failed to make the railing, and is stuck on the bottom edge. Yala decides climbing is for the meek, she makes a wide arc out in front of the barge then ride up the front like a ramp, landing on the deck in an impressive maneuver that has the barge's crew shouting in glee. Bronk dismounts and offers drinks around of Rodian whisky from his canteen. Luddite calmly moves his bike adjacent to the barge, moves smoothly to the side, and makes the railing and deck in one smooth maneuver.

Finding Bronk's canteen contains only water, the guards are upset and the ruse is up! A firefight begins on the upper decks, where Yala is initially able to make the deckgun and open fire until the gun controls are smashed by one of the gammorean guards. During the combat a trandosian mercenary and a human bounty hunter join the fray from below, almost turning the tide. As the battle ends, a dangerous gravel storm overtakes the barge.

The party storms the lower decks encountering token resistance in the banquet hall below. After defeating the gammorean guards they question the obviously maltreated slaves and are told that forward is the gammorean war leader of the barge's guards, along with the pilots; the Ithorian is in the lower deck with an engineer and his repair droids; while Cento and the Imperials are in the rear of the vessel. The party decides they will take the leaders first.

Officer Muloha has brought an Imperial Stormtrooper sergeant with her for protection and Centa has yet more gammoreans. The battle is fierce and the Stormtrooper's grenades and heavy blaster rifle almost do for the party. Bronk manages to get into the room with the enemy and attempts to charm Officer Muloha. Even in the heat of combat, she is overwhelmed by his charms and calls for a parley. Centa, not fooled, shoots the Officer dead, drawing the ire of the Imperial Stormtrooper, who attempts to gun Centa down with automatic fire. He survives and manages to kill the trooper, diving behind cover at the stern. Twitch rushes in, jumps on the desk and shoots Centa dead, right between the eyes, ending the fight.

Below they find the Ithorian, who is grateful for the rescue. They radio up to the pilots that Centa and his Imperial friends are dead and to take them back to Anchorhead. The pilots agree but warn them that something large is on the radar intercepting the barge, and to avoid being forced into the storm they need to deal with it. On deck, Xarn repairs the gun and they use it to drive off the adult Krayt dragon that has been stalking them in the storm.

(+5 Duty each for the positive reputation they gain)

The party arrives at Torche Station, the storm still raging around them. It is the worst Tatooine has seen in a decade and as the party opens the door of the cantina, dust and wind swirl inside. The occupants yell for them to shut the door and eye them up suspiciously. Bronk collapses at a table, whinging about his injuries. Twitch heads to the bar with Yala, after she arrives from scouting the area. Xarn is approached by Jawas who poke and pry into everything he is carrying, almost provoking him into igniting his saber and killing them. The Jawas then almost expose the landing beacon Twitch is carrying, and the party receives frowns for him pulling his gun on the Jawas. Xarn calls them back and deals for some scrap to get parts to repair the party's gear, trading them a loaded blaster pistol, earning even more frowns from the crowd.

A local man, Old Edwin, seems to have taken a dislike to the party and questions them as to their wounds, gear, destination, and business on this dark and stormy night. Suddenly, the door bursts open and the room fills with sand and grit and getting into everyone's drinks. Edwin starts to curse and yell for the newcomers to shut the door, but stops mid sentence when he looks and sees it is a squad of six Stormtroopers. They move to watch the room from all angles and tell everyone to stay where they are. A stranger sits down at Bronk's table. He chats with them then leans over conspiratorially to complain about Old Edwin, and plants a small satchel on Bronk.

Bronk, familiar with the art, spots the attempt and checks the bag, seeing it is spice. The man quickly leaves the table denying ownership, but Bronk manages to place the satchel back on him while under the scutiny of the entire room. Before the Stormtroopers can react, the satchel Twitch is carrying with the landing beacon and commlink fore the smuggling operation, activates.
